reference book review - The Ultimate Guide to Butterflies and Moths
November 25, 2015
Ultimate Guide is a bold claim but I'll agree to saying its an awesome reference book. Comprehensive practical guide. Information balanced easy to use. Includes enough details but not overlaiden with technical terms. A nice glossary in the back gets the job done.
Examine 140 species of butterflies and moths. Book opens with 25 pages index and introduction. Provides an overview about butterflies and moths plus a description about how to use the guide.
Sections organized by general appearance.
• Whites & Sulfurs
• Gossamer Wings
• Saytrs & Browns
Each critter presented with breif descrption, clear photos, convenent and useful facts:
• Latin and common name
• Large vivid color photos
• Global pictogram map showing range
Enjoyable coffee table reference guide. Its not a regional field guide, instead its a worldwide reference book. The only way it could possibly be more useful it would include a quick photographic identification overview section. Quick overview notwithstang this makes an excellent addtion to any nature enthusiasts reference library.
